Editorial standards
Every page leads with the answer, backs each fact with a source, and reads like a knowledgeable friend — specific, brief, and honest about limits.

The rules
- Answer in the first two lines, visible without scrolling.
- Plain language, grade 6-8; technical terms explained on first use.
- Numbers, names, examples — never filler.
- One light moment of humor per page at most; never in safety-critical content.
- Say when advice does not apply or an expert is needed.
Where this does not apply
What most guides do not tell you: brevity has limits. Safety-critical topics get longer pages, zero jokes, and a named reviewer. If a question needs an expert rather than an article, we say so on the page.
Common mistake: confusing brevity with thinness. Short pages still need sources, numbers, and a recommendation — cutting those is not editing, it is hollowing out.
